fred wenzel's suggestion of a serif font would increase readability a bit.
i like the open space.

I am the least tech oriented of anyone who enjoys reading your blog, but for it is worth, I preferred the previous version. It was pleasant to the eye, and very 'readable', even for a 55 yo with glasses!

When you redo it, you should consider a serif font for the text blocks, because it makes it more easily readable.

It's interesting how "off" the proportions seem with the b/w reversal; the individual posts, not so much as the front page.

I do find it slightly more readable though I can't say I was suffering before. Perhaps you could include the old stylesheet so that we could switch between them to compare, or open them side by side in tabs to compare.

I always prefer white text on a black background. To me, white-on-black is more readable and easier on the eyes.

I agree with you that this theme is a little washed out looking.

I also preferred the previous theme. Some colour would be nice around the edges. Perhaps there could be some sort of border around the posts while keeping the body black-on-white.

I vastly preferred the previous incarnation. It looked far and far nicer. Maybe you could provide this "legible" one as an alternate stylesheet (accessible through view -> page style, with maybe a switch link somewhere for better discoverability)?

It's a very... minimalist? theme. Highly legible. Maybe a tiny splash of color somewhere might be nice?
