The historically true horrors and atrocities that were committed in the name of western expansion set on the backdrop of McCarthy's hauntingly beautiful and  spiritual description of the  disappearing frontier. I don't remember the details of the book but I do remember how it left me feeling.  The writing was thick and amazing.  The story and characters felt completely naked to me.
